Job Description
Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech Language Pathologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population. Working within our collaborative, patient-centered environment, you will partner closely with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal functional outcomes and quality of life for our patients. The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for performing thorough assessments, developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, and delivering direct therapy services in alignment with best practices and regulatory standards. You will educate patients and families on diagnoses, home exercise programs, compensatory strategies, and available resources to support ongoing progress beyond the clinical setting. In addition, you will document services accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record, track outcomes, and communicate regularly with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care. This position may serve patients in a variety of settings within the health system, including inpatient, outpatient, and potentially swing-bed or specialty clinic environments, requiring flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and effective time management. You will contribute to discharge planning, make recommendations regarding continued therapy needs, equipment, or community resources, and advocate for patient safety and functional independence. Familiarity with dysphagia management, including bedside swallow evaluations and instrumental study recommendations, as well as experience with pediatric or adult populations, is highly valued. Southern Tennessee Regional Health System values compassionate patient care, teamwork, and continuous improvement. As a Speech Language Pathologist here, you will have the opportunity to participate in performance improvement initiatives, contribute to program development, and engage in ongoing professional education to maintain and expand your clinical competencies. The health system fosters a supportive culture that encourages professional growth, mentorship, and collaboration across disciplines. Working at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on community health while building a rewarding long-term career. You will work alongside dedicated healthcare professionals who share a commitment to high-quality, patient-focused care. We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement plan options such as a 401k, and paid time off. This on-site role in Lawrenceburg provides the opportunity to become an integral part of the local community while practicing at a progressive regional health system. Candidates should hold at least a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program and be eligible for or possess Tennessee state licensure. The Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is strongly preferred. New graduates with strong clinical rotations and a commitment to learning will be considered, while prior clinical experience in acute care, outpatient, or a similar healthcare setting is highly desirable. If you are a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist who values collaborative practice and compassionate care, we invite you to consider joining Southern Tennessee Regional Health System.

Frequently asked questions
What license do I need to apply?
An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.
Is this a school-year or year-round position?
School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.
What experience is expected?
Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
