Job Description
PruittHealth is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services to individuals recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized plans of care, and deliver evidence-based interventions that restore function, reduce pain, and help patients achieve their highest possible level of independence. As a Physical Therapist at PruittHealth, you will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team that may include physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, and case managers. You will use clinical judgment to set functional goals, select appropriate treatment techniques, and regularly reassess patient progress, modifying plans of care as needed. Your responsibilities will also include educating patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety, assistive devices, and strategies to maintain gains achieved in therapy. You will be accountable for accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, including initial evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, discharge summaries, and communication with the broader care team. You will ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with applicable state practice acts, payer guidelines, PruittHealth policies, and professional standards of practice. This position is well suited to a clinician who values empathy, clear communication, and teamwork. You will work in a nurturing environment that emphasizes dignity and respect for every patient and team member. PruittHealth supports your professional growth through access to onboarding, ongoing clinical training, mentorship, and career development opportunities, enabling you to expand your skills and advance within the organization. In this role, you may provide services across a variety of care settings, including skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation units, and potentially home health or outpatient environments, depending on organizational need. Flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks effectively will be essential. You will follow infection control protocols, adhere to safety guidelines, and participate in quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance patient outcomes and the overall care experience. PruittHealth offers a collaborative, inclusive culture committed to high standards of clinical care. As a Physical Therapist on our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day by helping patients regain mobility, confidence, and independence while contributing to a positive, supportive workplace focused on continuous learning and excellent patient care.

Frequently asked questions
What license do I need to apply?
An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.
Is this a school-year or year-round position?
School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.
What experience is expected?
Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
