Job Description

Marshfield Clinic – Archive is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within Marshfield Clinic Health System – Marshfield Children’s. As part of a Wisconsin-based pediatric care provider in a large, integrated health system, you will deliver high-quality physical therapy services to children and families across central and northern Wisconsin. In this role, you will evaluate pediatric patients with a variety of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, developmental, and post-surgical conditions, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and provide hands-on interventions to improve strength, mobility, coordination, balance, and functional independence. You will collaborate closely with pediatricians, specialists, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, and families to create individualized, family-centered care plans that support each child’s physical development and overall well-being. Working in a collaborative, patient-first culture, you will prioritize compassion, integrity, and continuous improvement in every interaction. You will perform detailed assessments, document clinical findings and progress in the electronic medical record, and adjust treatment plans based on outcomes and family feedback. You will educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, safe mobility, and adaptive equipment use, ensuring they feel confident supporting the child’s ongoing therapy at home and in the community. You will participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and care coordination activities to optimize outcomes and enhance the patient and family experience. This position offers the opportunity to practice in an environment that values teamwork, innovation, and professional growth. You will have access to pediatric-focused resources, continuing education, and mentorship to advance your clinical skills in areas such as orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, neurological and developmental therapy, and acute and outpatient pediatric care. You may participate in or support research, education, and program development initiatives that advance pediatric physical therapy within the health system. The role may involve providing services in inpatient, outpatient, and specialty clinic settings, requiring flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to safe, high-quality, evidence-based care. Ideal candidates are licensed Physical Therapists with strong pediatric clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a passion for working with children and families. You should be comfortable working in an integrated health system, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to a supportive culture that emphasizes staff wellness and work-life balance. By joining Marshfield Clinic – Archive, you will help children reach their highest potential while building a rewarding career in a respected regional health system dedicated to excellence in pediatric care.

  • What license do I need to apply?

  • Is this a school-year or year-round position?

School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.

  • What experience is expected?

Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
