About This Role
This role involves delivering mental health counseling and therapy to clients through Headway's platform, which handles insurance coordination and administrative tasks so you can focus on patient care. You'll conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing clinical support to individuals working through psychological challenges. The position offers flexibility through telehealth delivery, allowing you to build a caseload while managing your own schedule. You should hold an active LCSW license and have experience in direct client care. This role suits clinicians who want to practice independently without the overhead of running a private practice, and who value using technology to expand access to mental health services. Headway handles the billing and insurance logistics, so you're free to concentrate on clinical work.

Frequently asked questions
What license do I need to apply?
An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.
Is this a school-year or year-round position?
School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.
What experience is expected?
Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
