Physical Therapy Assistant - Travel Contract

Make a real difference as a travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at a skilled nursing facility in Potosi, MO. You will work with patients recovering from illness or injury to improve mobility, function, and independence under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Compact license accepted where applicable. Minimum 1 year of PTA clinical experience. Experience in long term care (LTC) or skilled nursing/rehab settings required. Ability to document clinical and regulatory information accurately in an electronic documentation system. Ability to perform and document skilled therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, ambulation, manual techniques, modalities, and use of assistive devices under PT supervision. Ability to record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements. Ability to participate in required meetings and facility-required trainings. Preferred Qualifications BLS certification from AHA or ARC preferred. Experience supervising or supporting students under the guidance of a Physical Therapist preferred. Assignment Details Shift pattern: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts. Start time must be before 6:00 AM and no later than 10:00 AM. Times are flexible as long as they are consistent and communicated with Director of Rehabilitation. Weekend work is not required unless a holiday falls on a weekday; in that case, hours may be made up on the weekend. 35 guaranteed work week (GWW). Impacting Patient Care Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans. Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings. Provide education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers. Adhere to APTA and state practice acts, ethical standards, and facility policies. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and assist with DME or supply needs as directed by supervising Physical Therapist.
