About This Role
You'll provide direct patient care on an adult inpatient psychiatric unit working every other weekend, Saturday through Sunday, from 3:00pm to 11:30pm, with holiday rotation included. This part-time role has you supporting patients and their families as a core member of the treatment team, delivering counseling and behavioral support during evening hours when patients often need the most attention. You'll work alongside doctors, nurses, and therapists to help people manage mental health crises and begin their recovery. This position suits counselors with prior experience in psychiatric or inpatient settings who prefer flexible, part-time weekend work and want to make a direct impact on vulnerable patients during critical times.

Join us as a Evening Weekend Mental Health Counselor! New Competitive Rates! Part Time Every Other Weekend (Saturday and Sunday) Evenings 3:00pm - 11:30pm including holiday rotation As a Mental Health Counselor for TaraVista in Devens, Massachusetts, you'll bring your experience and knowledge where your voice matters. A Mental Health Counselor is an integral part of our multidisciplinary treatment team. You will provide direct care and support not only to our patients but also their families and make decisions that impact the lives of your peers, your patients, and your community. In exchange, we will care for you as much as you care for our patients. As a Mental Health Counselor , you will maintain a safe therapeutic milieu on inpatient psychiatric units. You will also conduct safety checks, monitor patients, assist with ADL's, de-escalate acute situations, and provide supportive interactions with patients. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will: Conduct patient observation and rounds. Assists staff with patient care while following treatment plans. Observe and monitor patient's progress and reports observations to staff. Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients while maintaining professional boundaries. Assist patients with activities of daily living skills, as necessary. Provide appropriate supervision of patients' activities. Responsible for safety monitoring of patients of the unit. Process admissions belongings. Complete documentation in the EMR system. Facilitate patient groups. Work collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Team Mental Health Counselor candidates will have the following: High School Diploma. Bachelor's degree in psychology or human services field preferred. Previous PCT/PCA, CNA or Medical Assistant experience required. Bachelor's degree may be considered in lieu of experience. Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries. Previous experience in psychiatric or substance inpatient, restraint reduction de-escalation, and crisis intervention is preferred.
