Massage Therapist

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Applies the techniques of scientific massage to assist in the rehabilitation of sprains, strains, fractures, and dislocations, as well as to help eliminate pian from neuritic, arthritic, and rheumatic conditions.

Applies massage to relieve various forms of paralysis, insomnia, migraine headaches, and other conditions caused by poor functioning of the nervous system.

Provides relief of muscle tightness caused by stress and shortens recovery time for injured athletes with massage therapy.

Works with various agents to complement massage, including application of heat and light, hydrotherapy (water treatment), and exercise.

Submits periodic reports to treatment team or Physician to provide clinical data for evaluation.

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree (B.

A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification and Licensure Applicable State License to practice Massage Therapy. (Hospice only) - For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license.

Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.

For those driving their personal vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.
