Job Description

Marshfield Clinic – Marshfield Children’s is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our integrated pediatric health system. In this role, you will provide evidence‑based occupational therapy evaluation and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of developmental, neurological, orthopedic, sensory, and behavioral needs. Working closely with pediatricians, specialists, nurses, speech and physical therapists, social workers, and families, you will design and implement individualized treatment plans that promote functional independence in self‑care, school participation, play, and community activities. As part of our collaborative, patient‑first culture, you will engage in family‑centered care by educating parents and caregivers, providing home program recommendations, and partnering with schools and community providers to support children across all environments. You will perform standardized assessments, document care in the electronic health record, and track outcomes to guide clinical decision‑making and continuous improvement. You will have opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary clinics, case conferences, and quality initiatives, and to precept or mentor students and newer clinicians as appropriate. Marshfield Clinic Health System emphasizes compassion, integrity, and teamwork, offering a supportive environment that values clinical excellence, innovation, and professional growth. As an Occupational Therapist in our pediatric services, you will stay current with best practices through continuing education, in‑service training, and potential involvement in research or program development. You will contribute to service line growth by helping to develop specialized programs such as sensory integration, feeding, neonatal follow‑up, or upper extremity rehabilitation, depending on your interests and expertise. This position is ideal for a therapist who is passionate about pediatric care, enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team, and is committed to improving the lives of children and families across central and northern Wisconsin. You should be comfortable managing a varied caseload in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, prioritizing safety, quality, and patient experience while maintaining productivity and accurate, timely documentation. In return, you will join a mission‑driven organization that supports work‑life balance, staff wellness, and ongoing education within a large, integrated health system with strong regional impact.

Frequently asked questions

  • What license do I need to apply?

An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.

  • Is this a school-year or year-round position?

School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.

  • What experience is expected?

Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
