Job Description
Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in our state-of-the-art facility.
As part of a collaborative, patient-centered care team, you will provide hands-on, compassionate occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, helping patients improve function, safety, and independence in their daily lives.
In this role, you will carry out individualized treatment plans, focusing on activities of daily living, functional mobility, strengthening, cognitive and perceptual tasks, and the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
You will work closely with patients and their families to provide education, training, and ongoing support that promotes safety, maximizes functional outcomes, and encourages active participation in the rehabilitation process.
You will collaborate with nurses, physicians, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, monitor patient progress, and contribute to goal setting and discharge planning.
Daily responsibilities include preparing treatment areas, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and functional tasks, documenting treatments and patient responses in the electronic medical record, and communicating changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
You will uphold Jefferson Regional’s culture of compassionate care, safety, ethical practice, and community involvement by adhering to infection control protocols, maintaining patient confidentiality, and practicing in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
This position offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where teamwork, respect, and clinical excellence are central to everything we do.
You can expect opportunities for professional development, participation in in-service education, and the chance to contribute to quality improvement initiatives focused on patient outcomes.
The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, organized, and motivated by meaningful patient interaction, with strong communication skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital offers a competitive compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement benefits, along with the opportunity to grow your career while making a direct impact on the health and independence of the community we serve.

Frequently asked questions
What license do I need to apply?
An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.
Is this a school-year or year-round position?
School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.
What experience is expected?
Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
