Job Description

PruittHealth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide evidence-based rehabilitative care to adult and geriatric patients across a variety of clinical settings, helping them restore function, improve mobility, reduce pain, and achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. As a Physical Therapist with PruittHealth, you will perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and functional assessments, to determine individualized treatment needs. You will develop and implement patient-centered plans of care that incorporate therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait and balance training, functional mobility training, and pain management techniques in accordance with physician orders and established clinical standards. You will regularly reassess patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and provide clear education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding home exercise programs, safety, equipment use, and strategies to maintain functional gains. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team—including physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals—to coordinate care, support discharge planning, and ensure optimal clinical outcomes. You will document all assessments, goals, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic health record, adhering to regulatory, payer, and organizational standards. In alignment with PruittHealth’s inclusive culture grounded in dignity, respect, and professional growth, you will contribute to a supportive and nurturing environment for patients, families, and colleagues. You will participate in clinical meetings, in-service education, and ongoing training programs to maintain and enhance your clinical competencies, uphold evidence-based practice, and support quality improvement initiatives. You may provide guidance or mentorship to Physical Therapist Assistants and rehabilitation aides, delegating appropriate tasks and ensuring adherence to the established plan of care. This position is ideal for a Physical Therapist who is passionate about patient-centered care, enjoys working as part of a collaborative healthcare team, and is committed to continuous learning and professional development. PruittHealth offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients while benefiting from comprehensive training, supportive leadership, and a culture that values teamwork, integrity, and excellence in rehabilitation services.

  • What license do I need to apply?

An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.

  • Is this a school-year or year-round position?

School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.

  • What experience is expected?

Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
