Job Description
Join Our Team as a Speech Language Pathologist! Are you passionate about helping others communicate and thrive? As a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) , you will play a vital role in providing direct rehabilitation care in speech therapy to patients referred by physicians. Your expertise will make a significant impact on their recovery journey, all while adhering to the highest standards of care and regulations. What You Need to Succeed Education: Graduate of an accredited speech therapy program (minimum MS or MA SLP). Certification: ASHA certified (CCCs) or eligible for a 9-month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) to earn ASHA certification. Licensure: Currently registered/licensed in the applicable State, maintaining an active license in good standing throughout your employment.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in post-acute care or a related setting is preferred. CPR Certification: Must be obtained upon hire or during orientation, and remain current throughout employment. Your Role and Responsibilities Engage in community health initiatives and projects. Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and email proficiently. Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to ensure comprehensive care. Exhibit excellent body mechanics and make independent decisions when necessary. Stay informed about laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care. Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, and policies. Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and vendors. Uphold confidentiality and adhere to company policies, including compliance procedures. Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by following Life Care’s Code of Conduct . Essential Functions of the Role Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, and functional goals for patients. (SLP CCC only) Oversee and evaluate care provided by SLP CFYs. (SLP CFY only) Follow speech therapy treatment plans under the supervision of an SLP CCC. Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner. Utilize therapy software effectively. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients. Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary. Demonstrate dependable attendance and strong reasoning skills. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout your shift. Read, write, speak, and understand the English language proficiently.
