Implement therapy programs to develop or restore physical or cognitive functioning; address activities of daily living, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills; supervise rehab aides and technicians. Promote maximum independence by tailoring therapies to the patient’s abilities and interests; participate in discharge planning with the care team. Prepare patients for return to work by advising employers, identifying potential job accommodations, retraining, and coordinating return-to-work strategies. Document patient care in charts and department records; monitor progress and adjust plans as needed; uphold infection-control and safety standards.
