Job Description

Psychiatry Join Our Expanding Behavioral Health Team at Cape Fear Valley Health! Cape Fear Valley Behavioral Health is one of the largest comprehensive, multi-tiered behavioral health providers in North Carolina, committed to meeting the mental health needs of our community. We offer evidence-based, best-practice treatments delivered by a collaborative team of psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, psychiatric nurses, licensed professional counselors, and other mental health professionals. Behavioral Health Care is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the State of North Carolina. As we continue to expand services, we are seeking Board Eligible/Board Certified psychiatrists for the following opportunities: Emergency Psychiatry BE/BC psychiatrist with emergency psychiatry experience or training in ED/Psychiatry. The Emergency Department includes a dedicated 9-bed Psychiatric Unit for patients in crisis, supported by a specialty-trained behavioral health team.

Schedule: 13-hour shifts, approximately 12 shifts per month. Consult Liaison Psychiatry BE/BC psychiatrist with experience in consult liaison services or formal CL Psychiatry training. Provides psychiatric consults across our 600-bed main hospital, assisting attending providers with behavioral health assessments and disposition planning. ECT training and experience is highly desirable. Opportunity to work with residents and medical students. Child & Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry BE/BC Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists with experience in diagnosing and treating a variety of psychiatric disorders. Primarily outpatient roles with an option to provide coverage for our new Adolescent Inpatient Unit. Preferred experience includes treating ADHD, PTSD, ODD, Anxiety, Depression, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other child/adolescent mental health conditions. Opportunity to work with residents and medical students. Adult Outpatient Psychiatry BE/BC Adult Psychiatrists with experience in a variety of mental health conditions, including Chemical Dependency and Substance Use Disorders. ECT training and experience is highly desirable. Flexible structure to provide either or both inpatient and outpatient care. Clinic hours: Monday - Friday.
