About This Role
This PRN role has you working as a physical therapist delivering one-on-one care to patients in their homes throughout the Pittsfield area. You'll plan and carry out treatment sessions focused on helping people regain strength, mobility, and independence after injury or illness. Your days involve traveling to patient residences, assessing their functional limitations, and providing hands-on therapy tailored to their recovery goals. This position suits therapists who prefer direct patient care without clinic overhead, value flexibility in scheduling, and work well independently. You'll report to a Clinical Manager and coordinate with the broader home health team. PRN status means variable hours—ideal if you want to control your own availability or supplement other work. Strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt treatment plans to home environments are essential for success.

Frequently asked questions
How does PRN therapy work?
PRN (per diem) therapists pick up shifts or visits as needed without a fixed weekly schedule. Some employers require a minimum number of shifts per month; home-health PRN is typically paid per visit.
Does PRN pay more than full-time?
Yes — PRN hourly and per-visit rates are typically 15–35% higher than full-time staff rates, since the role doesn't include benefits or guaranteed hours.
Are benefits included?
Most PRN therapy roles do not include health benefits or PTO; the higher rate offsets that. Some larger systems offer benefits at higher commitment tiers.
