Job Description
New Directions Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our outpatient Healthcare & Medical Services team.
In this role, you will provide high-quality therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults, delivering individualized treatment in a supportive, client-centered environment.
You will conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, formulate diagnoses when appropriate, and collaboratively develop personalized treatment plans that address each client’s unique goals and needs.
Drawing on evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, trauma-informed care, and play therapy, you will provide individual, family, and, when appropriate, group therapy to support clients in achieving meaningful, sustainable change.
You will maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within our electronic health record system, adhering to professional, legal, and ethical standards, including HIPAA and relevant state regulations.
As a key member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will consult regularly with colleagues, coordinate care with primary care providers, schools, and community resources, and actively contribute to a culture grounded in empathy, support, and shared commitment to client well-being.
You will engage in risk assessment and crisis intervention when necessary, developing safety plans and connecting clients and families with appropriate higher levels of care or community supports.
New Directions Mental Health is dedicated to comprehensive outpatient care and offers a work environment that prioritizes collaboration, open communication, and professional growth.
As a Mental Health Therapist here, you will have the opportunity to positively impact lives every day, participate in case consultations and ongoing training, and build a rewarding, sustainable career in the mental health field.
We offer a stable full-time schedule with a hybrid work environment that may include a combination of on-site sessions in our clinic and telehealth services where appropriate.
Competitive compensation, medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, and a 401k plan support your overall well-being while you focus on the well-being of your clients.
This position is ideal for a licensed or license-eligible clinician with a master’s degree or higher in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field, who is passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within a supportive and team-oriented outpatient setting.

What license do I need to apply?
An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.
Is this a school-year or year-round position?
School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.
What experience is expected?
Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
