About This Role
This role supports occupational therapy services in a senior living community, where you'll work directly with residents on rehabilitation and functional independence goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering hands-on treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, educating residents and families about recovery, and documenting progress. You'll operate within a team setting alongside occupational therapists and other clinical staff, contributing to individualized care plans in a patient-centered environment. This position suits certified OTAs who are comfortable working with older adults, thrive in collaborative settings, and want to make a measurable difference in residents' quality of life and independence. Frequently asked questions
What license do I need to apply?
An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.
Is this a school-year or year-round position?
School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.
What experience is expected?
Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
