Job Description
Northeast Health Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in providing high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care across Massachusetts. As part of a collaborative and inclusive practice, you will deliver outpatient therapy and related services to children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, relationship issues, and life transitions. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide individual, family, and, when appropriate, group therapy using evidence-based approaches. You will regularly evaluate treatment progress, adjust interventions as needed, and maintain thorough, timely clinical documentation in our electronic health record system. Close collaboration with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, primary care providers, schools, and community resources is an important part of the work, ensuring coordinated care and holistic support for each patient. You will be responsible for managing a caseload that allows you to provide consistent, high-quality care while maintaining strong therapeutic relationships. This includes engaging patients in care, supporting treatment adherence, and offering psychoeducation to both patients and their families. You will also conduct risk assessments, respond to crises in a calm and professional manner, and follow established safety and reporting protocols to ensure patient and community safety. Northeast Health Services strongly values professional growth, clinician well-being, and a healthy work-life balance. You will practice in a supportive environment that encourages ongoing learning and development, regular consultation with colleagues, and participation in supervision or peer review. We foster an atmosphere of respect, inclusion, and collaboration where diverse perspectives and backgrounds are welcomed, and where your clinical expertise and input are actively sought in shaping patient care. As a Mental Health Therapist with our organization, you will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to improving mental health outcomes in the communities we serve. You will join a team that prioritizes compassionate, evidence-based treatment, continuity of care, and ethical practice. In return, we offer a stable, team-oriented setting with opportunities for professional advancement, continuing education, and long-term career growth within the behavioral health field. This position is ideal for a clinician who is dedicated to providing thoughtful, individualized care, is comfortable working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, and is motivated by the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of patients across the lifespan. You should bring strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, cultural humility, and a genuine commitment to supporting patient recovery and resilience while maintaining your own professional and personal well-being within a balanced work environment.

What license do I need to apply?
An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.
Is this a school-year or year-round position?
School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.
What experience is expected?
Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
