Job Description

Northeast Health Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, delivering high-quality mental health care to children, adolescents, adults, and families across Massachusetts. As part of a comprehensive behavioral health provider, you will conduct psychological assessments, provide evidence-based psychotherapy, and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support personalized treatment plans that address a wide range of mental health needs. In this role, you will perform diagnostic evaluations, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and offer ongoing individual, family, and, when appropriate, group therapy. You will utilize evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and other empirically supported modalities to treat conditions including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, mood disorders, and adjustment concerns. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in our electronic health record system, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting interventions to support optimal outcomes. You will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure a holistic, patient-centered approach. Regular consultation and case review will be part of your practice, helping to ensure that each patient receives comprehensive, integrated care. You will also engage in risk assessment and crisis intervention as needed, following ethical and legal standards while prioritizing patient safety. Northeast Health Services fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment that values both patient care and employee well-being. As a Psychologist on our team, you will be encouraged to pursue continuous learning and professional development through supervision, peer consultation, and access to training opportunities. You will have the opportunity to build a stable caseload while maintaining a balanced work-life dynamic, with support from experienced clinical and administrative staff. This position is ideal for a Psychologist who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in mental health care and who thrives in a supportive, team-oriented setting. You should be comfortable working with diverse populations, committed to culturally responsive care, and motivated to contribute to an environment that emphasizes empathy, respect, and clinical excellence. Joining Northeast Health Services means becoming part of an organization where your expertise is valued, your professional growth is supported, and your work directly improves the lives of individuals and families in the communities we serve.

  • What license do I need to apply?

An active state license in your discipline (PT, OT, SLP, LCSW, LPC, BCBA, etc.) in good standing. Therapy licensure is state-specific — the PT, OT, and ASLP-IC compacts let you practice in member states without a separate license.

  • Is this a school-year or year-round position?

School-based therapy roles typically follow a 9- or 10-month school-year calendar with summers off. Outpatient, hospital, home-health, and telehealth positions are year-round with PTO. Both options are widely available — check the job description for specifics.

  • What experience is expected?

Most therapy roles welcome new grads through mid-career clinicians. Specialty positions (acute care, NICU, pediatric feeding, hand therapy) typically prefer 2+ years plus relevant certifications.
