About This Role
This full-time position involves providing clinical social work services to children, adolescents, and their families in an outpatient endocrinology setting, with emphasis on diabetes care. You'll conduct psychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, and help patients navigate personal, family, and medical challenges related to their conditions. Your work will include risk assessments, diagnosis assignment, and ongoing clinical intervention. The role requires someone with strong clinical skills and experience supporting pediatric patients through chronic illness management. You should be comfortable working within a healthcare team environment and able to build rapport with families facing complex medical and social circumstances. This is a stable, full-time position at a major teaching hospital.

Position Summary/Department Summary: Full time social work position (40 hrs.) needed to provide a range of clinical social work services to children, adolescents and families in the Endocrine outpatient program, with a focus on diabetes patients. Key Responsibilities: Providing clinical social work services to assist patients and families with personal, family, medical and environmental difficulties. Performing psychosocial and risk assessments, assigning diagnoses and developing and implementing interventions and treatment plans. Participating in planning and implementation of discharge and outpatient service plans and collaborating with health care team and community agencies to plan, implement and follow up on treatment and provision of needed services. Minimum Qualifications Education: Master’s degree in social work Experience in medical environment and with child protection issues helpful. Flexibility and ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills are necessary. Licensure/Certifications: LICSW licensure required in the state of Massachusetts. This position is primarily based in Boston, with Weymouth coverage as needed New hires are eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus! The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
